Summary: | Car Battery Diagnoser (CbDiag) is a product that gives information about lead acid battery condition especially for car usage. Information about battery condition is an important indicator to determine the right time to change the battery. With this product, car owner can avoid unexpected weak battery on long trip or important situation. This product can be used on routine maintenance to give brief report on battery health. The product should be connected directly to the car battery without removing any wire from the car battery. However, the car must be on off state to get the right result. This product determines the quality of the battery with internal resistance method. The internal resistance of car battery will increase as battery suffer from aging or increasing charge-discharge cycle. Internal resistance value will increase until a critical point which car battery is categorized as weak battery and at this point, the battery is unable to deliver enough current while maintaining the right operational voltage. This product is also supported by Android application to help owner access the information at any time. Design and implementation of this product requires special attention since it is designed for common people with little or no experience on automotive or measurement devices. Product is then tested on several car owner to test the functionality, ergonomy, and ease of understanding the information. |
