Summary:Cement plant is an industrial plant that consume high amount of energy. Energy usage is a major component in the production cost. So, efficient energy usage greatly needed to reduce production cost in cement industry. For case study in PT. Semen Gresik plant Tuban I, production cost is reduced by building a private steam generated power plant (PSGPP) to minimize the electrical energy usage cost. PT. Semen Tonasa’s PSGPP system is used as a reference. Production process in a cement plant generates a large amount of thermal energy loss that can be used as additional input energy to optimize the PSGPP efficiency. To apply this mechanism, the location of the PSGPP must be close enough to the cement plant. To estimate the amount of thermal loss that can be used by the PSGPP, calculation of mass balance and global energy of PT. Semen Gresik plant Tuban I should be done. Based on the calculation of mass balance and global energy,
