One instance is ATM (Automated Teller Machine). ATM is an electronic tool that is commonly used because of its function as a tool for financial and non financial transaction. However, the ATM system in Indonesia could not be classified as completely safe as there are some flaws in the system. This is proved by the number of bank account robbery that cost billions for banks. The risks of bank robbery is the reason we need extra layer of protection for ATM usage, such as using OTP (one time password) for each transaction. OTP will be obtained by generate OTP using secret key and time inside a practical device named ForToken. ForToken is a hardware shaped like wrist watch, therefore banks should not spend more money to change atm machine's shape. Because ForToken needs time to generate OTP, the system would have adequate database server to accomodate real time needs and other ATM needs. To ensure the safety of bank customer, we would use two different database. Those are database to generate OTP for token and bank database. Inside the database bank, we would store SHA-256 hashed cutomer's ATM password. To use this system we need a good user interface for bank customer (ATM) and cust service (bank employee). ATM and customer service interface would be connected to database server to serve its function. text |
