Heat transfer can be divided into three modes, which are conduction mode, convection mode, and radiation mode. Heat transfer analysis can be done by comparing the energy changes that takes place in the system. One of the indication of heat transfer is the temperature difference between the system and the environment. This research will determined the value of thermal conductivity effective of grain material system in a cylindrical shape container. The methodology of the research is divided into three; (1) experiments for determining the change of temperature in the system over time, (2) data prosessing to determine the relationship between temperature on height, temperature on radius and temperature on time with numerical approaches, and (3) heat transfer analysis to determine the effective coefficient of heat conductivity granular material The experiment was conducted using two types of material, namely stainless steel granules and Acrylonitrite Butadiene Sytrene granules. The calculated parameter are temperature with respect to time using numerical models for various heights in the material.
