Description
Summary:Bandung Metropolitan Area drastically growth by residents and imigrants, where in 2010 the population ranged from 5,813,269 people to 8,393,002 inhabitants in 2017, contributing to the density and increased activity leading to the complexity of movement in the Greater Bandung Area. Providing adequate services and infrastructure in the field is still considered a way out to address the mobilization needs of the Baraya community. However, limited funds, space, and others hampered the development of Baraya's transportation services and infrastructure, especially public transportation. Today, involving gadget technology as a tool in helping community mobilization can be an option to maximize services and existing infrastructure. So that with complete and clear information, the use of existing public trasport services and infrastructure can be maximized. This service is usually referred to as Pre trip Information which contains various kinds of information about the public transport, such as being able to help people plan trips from origin to destination, both in terms of distance, time, also to fare during the trip. Examples of such services are the Google Maps Transit and Moovit applications on smartphones. With this application as a platform for personal information systems, it is hoped that there will be no more people who do not know about the public transport system in the Greater Bandung Area, such as angkot route information to the Bandros tour bus, public transport arrival schedules, to information on incidents that occur on public transport routes which is bypassed. However, based on the results of this study, using public transport application in Baraya is still not widely used in everyday life, and its performance is still not much to help reduce the distance, time, and fares during the trip. Seen from the lack of factors that influence the selection of the public transport, namely from the 15 independent variables offered per travel experiment with different applications, only 2-3 variables are related in choosing public transport, namely the rate, time and accuracy of the application. In addition, the reliability of the application as a Pre trip Information tool is also low, out of 7 options only 3 application reliability is felt by the Baraya community, namely the AU route info, bus stop info, and direct directions while traveling. Therefore, the availability of existing services and infrastructure will not be able to develop to balance the needs of the Baraya community going forward. So that one solution is needed optimization of Pre trip Information application services from the transportation government and application development companies.
