Description
Summary:Transportation problems and their impacts have become a serious problem especially for developing countries with a rapidly growing urban population and the need for motorized vehicles also increasing sharply. The increase in the population and the number of motorized vehicles in the urban area has caused air pollution which impacts are received directly by the surrounding community. Inevitably, transportation activities are one of the biggest pollutant sources that produce pollutants. Some air pollutants produced by motor vehicles are gas CO, NOx, HC, SO2 and others. As we know, pollution to the air not only endangers health but also causes global warming, so we need for identification of an area is polluted or not so that a solution can be provided to reduce air pollution that occurs. To determine the concentration of pollutants in the air, it can be modeled using a Gaussian dispersion model, without ignoring meteorological factors that affect the distribution of air pollutants themselves. In this case, the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) pollutants produced by the exhaust gases of motor vehicles on the Raden Saleh road section, Padang City was examined.
