Summary: | The plan of the number of operation fleet reduction in every local routes based on
the result of "The Master Plan Study of Public Transport (Angkot) Routes Network in
Cimahi", tends to only consider the economic operations feasibility perspective and
it’s unsuitable with the efficiency of system operations perspective. The increase in
economic growth and the inadequate quality of Angkot services have aroused
interest of people who prefer to use private transport, in which motorbike being the
toughest rival of cars. The approach that could be used by users and prospective
users of public transport is no longer based on 'use what provided' thinking, but
rather be 'provided what needed'. Therefore the purpose of this study is to identified
the people perceptions in the selections of modes between Angkot and motorbike to
determine the appropriate Angkot arrangements in Cimahi. Data collection in this
study used by questionnaires as the main method, to 100 respondents with cluster
sampling. As for the data analysis was carried out by disagregated stokastik
approach using the binomial logit model. For the results it was concluded that the
factors that significantly affect the selection of modes between Angkot and motorbike
were the trip charges, the ease to get the transport, and the suitability of the routes,
with showed the value of utility difference (-0,59158), as well as the opportunity to
choose a motorbike (64,37%) and Angkot (35,63%) in existing conditions. The
biggest opportunity of modes selecting was obtained through reducing the trip
charges and increasing the assessment factor of the ease to get a transport, for
Angkot. The arrangements that could be made are reducing Angkot charges,
limitation to get and used motorbike, as well as doing some regional planning and
services operation, and applying sanctions for driver that trespass the routes.
Meanwhile the alternative regulations for Angkot that currently available have not
been able to answer all the arrangements needed by Angkot in Cimahi. |
