Description
Summary:This project is a project designed by the International Curriculum for International Tourism. The school complex is divided into two main parts, namely the education area and the commercial area, and the secondary area which consists of the service areas and areas for supporting the main activities. The initiator of this project is PT. Kompas-Gramedia in collaboration with its sub-group, PT. Grahawita santika as manager of hotel education. The design area is 1.2 Ha, located in Maguwoharjo, Depok District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. Building users are grouped into three, which are the academic community, the employees and the hotel guests. The main point of this school is hospitality which is very much related to the interior design of the building. This high school of tourism in Sleman adopted the interior design of the hospitality into the school building so that the students had an overview of their work environment. This goal raises the design concept "Amiability Learning Space" which addresses the problems of interior design, zoning, and local culture in buildings. The design approach is carried out by site analysis that is elaborated with the functionality of the school typology. The basic design concept emphasizes the hospitality of the outside space and the use of local materials. The hotel and culinary school design project in Sleman consists of two main masses that have functions as schools and hotels. Then it is supported by a transition space between the two buildings in the form of a pedestrian-friendly green park that has a function as a place to gather and interact. The school area consists of two buildings, the western building functions as a classroom area and student activity units while the eastern building functions as a lecturer, administration and practical laboratory area. Each building consists of three floors. The hotel area consists of two buildings, the east building serves as the main lobby, restaurant and ballroom. The mass of the building consists of two floors. Western buildings function as lounges on the 1st and 50th floors of hotel rooms spread on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. Both building functions use exposed concrete, exposed wood and natural stone as the main material.
