Description
Summary:The amount of waste production in Indonesia, especially in Bandung is increasing every year. This is not balanced with the existence of a sustainable waste treatment facility that is able to process all the waste produced into other useful materials. Therefore, BPPT and the West Java Provincial Government plan to build a Green Facility-Based Waste Processing Center at TPST Sarimukti, West Bandung. The future facilities are able to be the answer to efficient and sustainable waste management solutions for Bandung and its surroundings. The site has an area of 30 hectares, composed of 5 hectares of land specifically for industrial waste processing and 25 hectares of land that will undergo rehabilitation to the natural vegetation function on the land. Besides industrial function, the project also has several other functions, including tourism, commercial and educational functions. This project will focus on tourism as well as education in design planning. The main issues held in the development of this project are the Green Facility, Public Acceptance, and Responsive Design issues. These issues will be the foundation to produce design solutions that will be used in project design. The design concept itself emphasizes the landscape aspect as the most influential issue in the design process. Bringing "Rebirth" as the main concept to state that the formerly dead land is now alive and arise.
