If it is uncontrolled, stress can cause heart attacks, strokes or cancer, through a decrease in the immune response system. Most of urban society has been suffers from stress, especially in Jakarta. Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia, it is amongst the top 20 cities with the highest stress levels in Asia. Women are often said to be more susceptible to stress than men, most of the cases are related to work, so a diversion is needed to deal with the stress. Alain de Botton, in his book Art as Therapy, says that art has a therapeutic effect for its viewers. This research intends to prove the theory by determining the visual design elements of Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini, or abbreviated as NKCTHI, in communicating the message conveyed and knowing the relationship between visual design and NKCTHI text books as the media of art as therapy in reducing stress of career women in Jakarta. This research was composed by using visual communication design theory approach to analyze the visual content of NKCTHI books. Charles S. Peirce's communication semiotics used as a method in dissecting the visual and textual meanings of books. The results of the analysis will be linked to the 'Art as Therapy' theory by Alain de Botton to see whether there is a therapeutic effect in the NKCTHI book. This study uses descriptive qualitative analysis method, where the researcher analyzed research objects based on data and information obtained from related literature studies, respondent interviews, and internet sources. The results of this study prove that the visual aspect of the NKCTHI book is an introduction in dissecting the meaning of texts and the messages contained. The visual and textual aspects of the book reinforce the psychological effects resulting from reading the NKCTHI book, thus there is a therapeutic effect from the book that can divert stress from career women. text
