Description
Summary:Two general method of research in Ciburuy area are geological and hydrology at field and laboratorium analysis. The study at field for geological mapping, take the rock’s sample, to take groundwater sample, and measure infiltration rate. Rock unit in study area is divided into three non formal rock units from older to younger strata are Limestone Unit, Volcanic Breccia Unit, and Tuff Unit. The geological structures in the study area are sloping layers and shear fracture. The sloping layers has average of strike and dip N800E/35SE. The existance of shear fracture is because indication of Rajamandala Thrust Fault. The types of aquifers in the study area is unconfined aquifer found in weathering of Limestone Unit, and weathering of Volcanic Breccia Unit. The general pattern of groundwater flow is towards the west-east. The infiltration rate in the Limestone Unit is 86.628 cm/hour while the Volcanic Breccia Unit is 16.608 cm/hour. The physical and chemical characters of groundwater in Ciburuy area show the physical characters Limestone Aquifer-Aquiqlude Unit has temperature 270C – 280C, pH 6.9 – 7.66, and TDS 201 ppm – 275 ppm. Volcanic Breccia Aquifer-Aquiqlude Unit has temperature 280C – 300C, pH 5.08 – 6.45, and TDS 27 ppm – 101 ppm. Beside That, the chemical characters of groundwater Limestone Aquifer-Aquiqlude Unit are calcium (Ca2+), sulfate (SO42-), and bicarbonate (HCO3-) which is included calcium bicarbonate (Ca(HCO3)2) facies. While dominant ion content in Volcanic Breccia Aquifer-Aquiqlude Unit groundwater samples is calcium (Ca2+) and bicarbonate (HCO3-) which is included in calcium bicarbonate (Ca(HCO3)2) facies.
