Summary:The Tangerang City Government plans to build a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in the Pintu Air Sepuluh area, Tangerang District, Tangerang City, Banten Province. The water needs of the residents of Tangerang City are currently fulfilled by the Perusahaan Air Minum Daerah (PDAM) Tirta Benteng in Tangerang and supply assistance from PDAM Tirta Kerta Raharja, Tangerang Regency. The production efficiency of PDAM Tirta Benteng has continued to decline since 2015 with service coverage only fulfilled by 15.56% in 2017. Therefore, a 500 liter per second IPA will be built in the Pintu Air Sepuluh area with raw water coming from Cisadane River. WTP is planned to serve four sub-districts in Tangerang City, namely Benda, Tangerang, Cipondoh and Batuceper District. The total population in the service area in 2029 based on projections with the selected logarithmic projection method is 965727 people. The area of the IPA planning area is 18,891 m2 used as local residents’ ex-cemetery. Based on the results of water quality analysis in the Water Quality Laboratory ITB Environmental Engineering Department, color parameters, turbidity, BOD, COD, iron and manganese did not meet drinking water quality standards Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan No 492. The method of selecting alternative processing units using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) with selected processing is a series of conventional units consisting of coagulation units using in-line static mixers, flocculation units using hexagonal channel hydraulic baffles and sedimentation units using modular high-rate (tube) settlers.
