Summary: | The increase in tectonic activity can be seen from the earthquake and tsunami in the past year in Indonesia. Surely this has become a precaution, especially for coastal cities that are in the path of the earthquake. One of the cities that have a threat against earthquakes and tsunamis is Padang City. Located about 200 km from the Mentawai megathrust, then there is a stamped fault which is a source of earthquake in the city of Padang. As the capital of West Sumatra Province and the establishment of the PKN (National Activity Center) status, the coast of Padang City is very dense with population activities. In 2009, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 magnitude occurred, which resulted in fatalities and damage to buildings. Since the earthquake, the city of Padang has improved and started actively conducting disaster risk reduction activities to date. It is hoped that disaster risk reduction efforts can make the City of Padang resilient, especially against the threat of the earthquake and tsunami. However, it is necessary to assess the effectiveness of the disaster risk reduction efforts undertaken. This research focuses on assessing the level of resilience of Padang City against future earthquake and tsunami threats by learning from 2009. The analysis technique used is scoring. The level of resilience is obtained by comparing the capacity with vulnerability from the perspective of the government and the people of Padang City. Also carried out weighting to get the value of toughness. The result is that Padang's resilience score against the threat of earthquake and tsunami from a government perspective is 0.4, which is classified as low resilience. Meanwhile, Padang's resilience score against the threat of earthquake and tsunami from a community perspective is 0.4, which is classified as a low level of resilience. So that the average resilience of Padang City against the threat of earthquake and tsunami in the future is 0.4, which is classified as a low level of resilience. After that, a proposed strategy to improve the toughness of Padang City was prepared using correlation analysis.
