Summary: | Cysteine is an amino acid that has an important role in the metabolism of biochemical compounds in the body, such as heparin, coenzyme A, and glutathione. Aside from being a precursor to metabolism in the body, cysteine has an important role in the health sector, including as an ingredient in making of antiox.idants, radiation protection, and drugs for Alzheimer, Parkinson, and AIDS. Lack of cysteine intake can cause several health problems, such as fatigue, slow gr0\v1h in children, hair depigmentation, fat-loss, reducing muscle level, and liver disorders. In this research, a carbon-paste electrode modified \\ ith ox.ovanadium(IV) -salen complex -\\aS used to determine the cysteine le-vel by voltammetry. The modification of the carbon paste e l ectrode vvas carried out by the cyclic -voltammetry method . Meamv hile, mea urement of cysteine levels \\.ere carried out using differentia I pulse voltammetry techniques in the potential range of 0.4 V - 0,9 V with a scan rate of I 0 mY I s. The electrode has good repeatability and is able to measure cysteine levels in the linear range of 200 - 900 11M. Flllthennore. the electrode \\.as also used to determine cysteine levels in the Nov. Foods L-Cysteine supplement sample -\\ith a percent reco-very of
99.82 ± 2.044%.
