Padepokan Seni Tari Gugum Gumbira is a Sunda Cultural Center Building which has three main functions, such as commercial, performance and training. Padepokan seni located on Jalan KH. Wahid Hasyim with a land area of 12,000 m2, located in a high density community. Client of this project is a dance artist and composer of Sundanese Songs, Gugum Gumbira. This project aims to preserve and introduce Sundanese culture to the international realm, in addition, it aims to accommodate activities that have not been fulfilled in the training facilities previously learned by Gugum Gumbira. The target of the main users of this project are visitors, both from within and from abroad. The main concept applied to this padepokan seni is to bring visitors to get a unique space experience, which is to feel the atmosphere of traditional and modern Sundanese culture simultaneously. The concept is supported by modern padepokan seni forms, in contrast to padepokan seni buildings in general. The main form of padepokan seni was taken from the form of the Sunda Traditional House Julang Ngapak which was modified to be modern using local wood materials. In addition, the concept of the dance created by Gugum Gumbira also became the basis for the design of building masses and laskap. This padepokan seni consists of several building masses that are grouped by function which are then equipped with a parking lot that can accommodate 60 visitor cars.
