Description
Summary:Plant 14 is one of ten PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk factories located in Citeureup, West Java. Every year, Plant 14 can produce about 4 million tons of cement. In the production process, combustion is done in kiln using coal as its fuel. From that combustion process, particulate and gases are emitted. One of those gases is sulfur dioxide (SO2). SO2 gas emitted can reach about 338 kg/hour. With flue gas discharge about 8,000,000 m3/hour in 160oC and 25 mbar, the SO2 concentration is about 2,487.5 mg/Nm3. This value has surpassed the emission standard in Regulation of Environmental and Forestry Minister Number 19 Year 2017 about Emission Standard for Cement Industry, which is 650 mg/Nm3. Therefore, an air pollution control system for SO2 gas is needed. Designed system is flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system with limestone scrubbing process using packed tower arrangement. Designed FGD system consists of packed tower itself, reagent preparation system, sludge treatment system, and overflow tank. Absorber unit is designed with 95% efficiency, 3.81 m in diameter, and 12.5 m in total height. Used absorbent will be treated using thickener and horizontal belt filter to produce gypsum cake.
