Description
Summary:Traffic safety is very important to be considered by transportation service providers because if a traffic crash occurs, it will cause both material losses and fatalities. Within a period of 3 years since it officially began operating in 2015, there were 3810 traffic crashes on the Cikopo - Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road. Various efforts are needed to improve safety on the Cipali Toll Road. One of the efforts is to build a traffic crash prediction model. This research developed a traffic crash prediction model for the Cipali Toll Road. The model was built using the Negative Binomial Regression Model, with the number of traffic crashes as dependent variable and annual average daily traffic and some geometric characteristics of the toll road as independent variables. The results showed that the number of traffic crashes was positively correlated with the type of road pavement and negatively correlated with annual average daily traffic and the proportion of safety fences on the outside shoulder.
