Summary:The increase of small and medium industries (IKM) in Indonesia, especially the batik industry, apparently can have a negative impact on the environment because it can produce waste. The poor impact on the environment is due to the lack of specific assessment of the industry regarding waste disposal permits. Efforts can be made in the process so IKM can become more environmentally friendly industries is to implement a cleaner production system in each IKM. Based on observations and tests conducted in one of the batik industries in Cirebon, Batik X, the characteristics of wastewater produced showed the levels of BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, and colors that exceed the quality standards for textile wastewater quality based on Permen LH No. 5 of 2014. BOD levels of 695 mg / L, COD of 2317 mg / L, TSS of 1065 mg / L, TDS of 3260 mg / L, oils and fats of 6.2 mg / L, mercury of 0.0008, and a color of 4348 Pt-co. With such high levels, it has not been processed into the wastewater to pollute the environment. To handle the case, a clean production system design is carried out by improving the system of household governance (good house keeping), substitution of raw materials, and processing of the formed wastewater. The generation of wastewater produced by the Batik X industry is 12744,9 L / day. Waste water treatment that can be used to treat wastewater is by using physical-chemical processing, with WWTP used coagulation units, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and sludge drying beds units.
