Environmental damage did not allow the affected area to be inhabited, this resulted in more than 14,000 households being forced to evacuate after losing their homes and property. Seeing this phenomenon, it is important to have an in-depth study related to emotional attachment to the living environment which can explain the process of dwelling and post-displacement resettlement. This study aims to determine the factors of place attachment that can be used as a references at the shelters to facilitate the adaptation process and can meet the psychological needs of displaced persons. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive and analytical approach that is both idiographic and nomothetic. The research strategy is to use interview techniques and self-report questionnaires to measure the level of the emotional attachment of IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) using Place Attachment Scale. The findings that found in this study are that the environmental factors that influence social interaction can foster social bonds. The existence of social ties and the emergence of emotional attachments in the environment is characterized by the emergence of feelings of sadness (anger) if one of the chains is lost or damaged. Shelter that can accommodate these needs is allegedly facilitating the dwelling process in cases of displacement. text
