This can be minimized if the quality of antenatal care is met properly. Antenatal care is the care given for women to have a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby. Through antenatal care, various information and education related to preparation and delivery can be given to mothers as early as possible. Literature review found that to meet the needs of pregnant women, medical facilities not only provide highquality medical care, but also a comfortable psychological environment. These dimensions are the physical environment, service quality, health personnel preferences, human resource characteristics, cultural, beliefs and traditions, women's autonomy, social support, personal factors, and accessibility. West Bandung Regency has the lowest number in childbirth assistance by health workers in West Java. This research was conducted in Lembang Village because it has the highest number of women and health workers in Lembang District. This research aims to analyze the pregnant women’s behavior in choosing the place of antenatal care in the independent midwifery practice. This explorative study was used EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis) method. A total of 56 pregnant women selected by systematic sampling method and data were collected using structured questionnaire. From 53 variables in 9 dimensions that found in literature review, 11 variables were obtained and 3 factors were formed which influenced pregnant women’s behavior in choosing the place of antenatal care. The results showed that the factors of social support and women’s autonomy, women’s cognition, and perceptions of service quality by midwives have an important role in influencing pregnant women’s behavior in choosing the place of antenatal care and willingness to check their pregnancies. An environment that can facilitate these factors can be used as the independent midwifery practice design references. text
