Description
Summary:Part of the efforts to maintain the production of gas in the Mahakam block, deep zone interval in the Hana field now beginning to be developed. Problems encountered in developing this zone are limited by the availability of seismic data to determine the geometry of the reservoir, which is dominated by distributary channel deposits. In the previous model, the definition of the geometry of distributary channel deposits were deduced from the thickness of the reservoir by applying ratio 1:80 to calculate the channel width. This ratio numbers was adopted from some previous researchers (Mercier and Allen, 1985, Duval, 1992, and Lafont, 2003). It’s suspected that the previously ratio is still too small, since the volumetric calculation in previous model is lower than volumetric calculation given by material balance methode, which is considered as more valid. Based on the results of this research, the width to thickness ratio of distributary channel used to modelized the reservoir xx-7/75aS is 1:120. These results showed potential to develop the field towards the west, and expand the drainage area of the field.
