PROPOSED FORECASTING METHOD AND INVENTORY CONTROL METHOD FOR RINGER LACTAT 500 ML MJB AT ROYAL PRIMA HOSPITAL MEDAN

Royal Prima Hospital Medan is type B private hospital in Medan that has been accredited. To maintain this accreditation, Royal Prima Hospital Medan must always provide the best service needed by each patient. Royal Prima Hospital Medan must always provide the medicine stock needed by the patient. In addition to the safety of all patients, this is also to maintain hospital accreditation and minimize loss of opportunity costs. In 2018, the Royal Prima Medan Hospital suffered an loss opportunity cost around Rp. 117,125,215 for one type of medicine, which is Ringer Lactat 500 ML MJB caused by out of stock. This research aims to assist the Royal Prima Hospital Medan, specifically to reduce the loss of opportunity costs caused by stockout of medicines. In this research, the author will use time series forecasting methods and inventory control methods. In addition, the authors also developed a inventory ordering process to reduce the long lead time of the medicine ordering process. So the process of ordering medicine can run more effectively. After calculating the time series forecasting method and inventory control method, the author found the best method for the Royal Prima Hospita Medan l. The method is to use the Holt Winter forecasting method with alpha 0.6 and gamma 0.6 and the fixed order quantity inventory control method. By applying both of these methods, Royal Prima Hospital Medan can reduce the loss of opportunity costs around 49% or IDR 57,626,111 and reduce total inventory costs around 45% or IDR 114,408,778. This helps the Royal Prima Hospital Medan to be more efficient and effective in carrying out its business.
