ANALYSIS OF “BONO” TIDAL BORE PHENOMENON IN KAMPAR RIVER RIAU REGION

In this research, the phenomenon of tidal bore "bono" will be analyzed in the Kampar River, Pelalawan area, Riau. A tidal bore is a sharp rise in a free surface that travels upstream in the estuary system when the tidal current changes to rise. Tidal bore is also known as aegir, mascaret, or pororoca. This research is included in the type of experimental research. The stages in this study make a geographical simplification of the Kampar River environment. After simplifying, make the appropriate flow box. This research was carried out by varying the narrowing width of the flow and then comparing it to the conditions in the field. From the results of the study it was found that the greater narrowing, the greater the increase in amplitude. This is because the flow is narrowed with a fixed volume of water from a wider area which will make the water level in a narrower area even higher.
