Description
Summary:Runway edge light is a lamp indicator on the edge of an airstrip that gives a guide to the pilot to land the plane at night or bad weather. Regular measurements of light intensity (photometry) on runway edge light are needed to ensure that the lights function properly in accordance with existing flight regulations. This developed photometry system had 2 subsystems that communicate wirelessly, the data acquisition subsystem and the main station subsystem. This document specifically aims to design a graphical user interface and process (display) the results of the photometric system of runway edge light on the main station subsystem. PyQt Designer was used to design graphical user interfaces while MATLAB software was used to produce and display isocandela diagrams and maximum intensity diagrams. This photometric system was tested to measure Thorn EL-EAH runway edge light at the Aviation Engineering Center (Balai Teknik Penerbangan Indonesia). This graphical user interface had been successfully designed to place the acquired data, then the maximum intensity and isocandela diagrams of the measurement results had been successfully produced and will be compared with existing flight regulation standards.
