One of the alternatives of shore protection that has been developed at Candidasa Beach is floating breakwater. Floating breakwater benefits from its ability to be built on poor soil condition and lack of effect on the tourism activities at the beach as the structure hardly disturbs the water circulation and fish migration. This final project will design floating breakwater structure with main focus on the dynamic responses of the floating structure affected by the wave at Candidasa Beach. Heave and roll responses will be calculated with analytical calculation. The result will then be compared to dynamic responses obtained from software calculation. Transmission coefficient of the floating breakwater structure will be calculated with energy flux method that pass through the gap between the structure and seabed. In the calculation of transmission coefficient, the movement of the structure will be neglected. The result of this final project will be the dimension of the floating breakwater structure, the dynamic responses of the structure, and the transmission coefficient of the breakwater. text |
