UTILIZATION OF TAPPING DATA IN BUS RAPID TRANSIT TO ANALYZE OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE (CASE STUDY: TRANSJAKARTA)

In the management cycle, there are 3 processes namely planning, implementation, and evaluation, which is followed directly by re-planning evaluation. In this case, these 3 processes applies to PT Transportation Jakarta as the Transjakarta operator. Constraints that often occur out of these 3 process...

In this case, these 3 processes applies to PT Transportation Jakarta as the Transjakarta operator. Constraints that often occur out of these 3 processes is usually met during the evaluation phase such as the length of time of data collection and the lack of methods or tools to evaluate, which will then impacts the reponse time to Transjakarta services. Since 2014, smart cards have been implemented in Transjakarta and have provided benefits in terms of users and operators. In terms of operators, the benefits comes in the form of data tapping. It makes data collection faster The purpose of this study is to formulate a method of evaluating Transjakarta’s operational performance based on data Tapping to improve services. The performances to be analyzed are: capacity, Loading Profile, Load Factor and waiting time. All analyses shall use data Tapping as its initial capital. The results of the analysis that have been carried out are whether data Tapping using the travel time data, the number of fleets being operated and the type of fleets being operated can be used to obtain the capacity analysis. Whether the data Tapping using distance data between segments and the results of the capacity analysis, the Loading Profile and Load Factor analysis are obtained. Whether data Tapping using the number of fleets operated and the results of the Loading Profile and Load Factor analysis are obtained using waiting time analysis. The policy instruments implemented as an alternative are: the number of fleets, the type of fleets and the selection of bus stops as the start and end point of the fleets to be operated. As an added alternative result, improvements cannot be made uniformly because each corridor has its characteristics. text
