Description
Summary:PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia or often been called PT RNI is a limited company engaged in agroindustry, pharmacy and trading. One of its subsidiaries is agro-industry with tea, oil palm, rubber, soybean, sugar cane and palm oil businesses. The source of the raw material for the sugar industry is sugar cane, which comes mostly from farmers and partnerships in the East Java region. One of the sugar mills owned by PT RNI is the Candi Baru Sugar Factory which is located in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, with a capacity of 2,750 tons of sugar cane per day. To support the production process, Candi Baru Sugar Factory operates 2 boilers each with a capacity of 30 tons / hour. Steam boilers fueled with bagasse which is a residue from the sugar production process, burning bagasse produces emission gas containing particulates. In addition, Candi Baru Sugar Factory has been operating for approximately 40 years since 1983. For this reason, all equipments and machineries used in the production process, especially steam boilers and air pollution control devices, have been used from the beginning. This results in a decrease in the efficiency of the machine / tool. Therefore, authors provide recommendations and several evaluations to redesign air pollution control systems to improve the efficiency of particulate control devices in capturing particles produced by bagasse-fired boilers, which is cyclone unit.
