Description
Summary:This project emphasizes the design of Excavator Visualization System (EVA System) Prototype, an electronic visualization device for excavator’s operator. The thought of EVA System design came from the visibility problem experienced bythe operator due to the protector frame attached on excavator’s cabin as well as the high demand of focus for the operators related to instrument operating. EVA System consists of 4 main subsystem: sensoric, main controller, data processing and display. Sensoric subsystem sends the angle data caused by the movement of excavator’s moving part (bucket, arm, boom and main body) towards main controller by wire. The main controller subsystem controls the data traffic from the sensors and sends the data to data processing subsystem for further process. The output of the system comes in the form of excavator movement animation on display subsystem. Furthermore, this project will emphasize the implementation of sensors, power distribution system and delegate process in graphical user interface designing for EVA System. The system test result shows that EVA System has the capability to enhance operator’s visibility and gives a warning in case the excavator is outside the safety zone.
