In developing this system, a Power Management Unit is needed to condition the 12 Volt input voltage from the vehicle to be the appropriate voltage for the components that will be used in this system. Power Management subsystem supply 5V DC to the sensing / data acquisition block, data processing block (Sensing Data Processing Unit and Main Data Processing Unit) and User Interface block. Speed Acquisition Subsystem serves to get information about the speed of the vehicle used to calculate safe conditions or whether the driving conditions are based on the two seconds rule. This system uses the Audio Interface to provide sound notification when there are objects in the blind spot and when the operator breaks the safe distance. Sensing subsystem is placed in an enclosure that holds all the components in the subsystem. The enclosure is placed in the front of area and blind spot area (right and left) of the vehicle. text |
