Summary: | PT NI is a leading Japanese refrigeration engineering company which due to the growing market in Indonesia, in the last decade the company has tripled the number of employees. The fast growth poses challenge in organizational development. As the organization becomes more complex, developing organization that helps retaining talented employees for sustainable competitive advantage becomes more challenging, as indicated by employee turnover which already twice the previous year. Improving employee engagement is considered as a solution to motivate and retain employees, which will result to higher productivity, and better organizational performance.
In this research, Aon Hewitt model of employee engagement was used to assess the engagement level and to identify key engagement drivers. Primary data was collected using employee questionnaire and analyzed using statistical method.
The result shows that despite the recent turbulence, engagement level is still on the high side. Engagement driver was identified as Career Opportunity, Senior Leadership, People Focus, HR Practices, Diversity, Communication, Pay, Benefits, and Recognition. Therefore, improving career development, performance management, and senior leadership was proposed. |
