Universitas Telkom currently has 26,918 active students and 11,802 employees, consists of staffs and lecturers. At the moment, water supply for bathroom and washing has already exist, but the quality of the water is not conformed with Regulation of Health Ministry No. 492/2010 about Requirement of Drinking Water Quality. The university is planning to add tap water for drinking water as its service. The raw water will use the university’s lake which has a debit of 3.97 L/s. There are six parameters that need to be processed from the lake, namely fecal coliform, coliform, turbidity, colour, cadmium, and ammonia. The tap water is planned to serve at least until 2038, in conformity with the university’s development masterplan. By 2038, there will be 5 faculties and 49 departments added, totalling 36,987 people, which require average daily debit of drinking water of 92,467.5 Lpd. The water will be processed by using nanofiltration first, and then pre-treatment continued with disinfection. There are three alternatives of pre-treatment. The first alternative is by using slow sand filter. The second is by rapid sand filter and active carbon, and the third alternative is by using coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation. Through Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method, the first alternative (slow sand filter) is chosen as the processing configuration. After being processed, the water will be distributed to the campus area by pipelines. HDPE will be used as the pipe. There are two alternatives for the pipe path: loop system and mixed system. After weighting with SAW method, the chosen pipe path is the mixed system. Total cost needed for the design is Rp. 1.026.600.000,00. text |
