Summary:Indonesia’s rate in road traffic accident remains high. Human is considered to be the major factor. Most of accident caused by human factor is related to fatigue. This research aims to study the use of neurobehavioral task (i.e. Psychomotor Vigilance Task (PVT), Sustained Attention Test (SAT), and Stroop Test) as fatigue detection technology, and develop the recommendation to revise fatigue risk management of Indonesia’s road transport system. Using field experiment, twelve middle-aged men were asked to drive 6 hour long divided into two session, i.e. session 1 (Bandung-Bekasi) and session 2 (Bekasi-Bandung). Measurement was done 6 times, i.e. at the beginning, the middle, and the end of the session. Result showed that neurobehavioral task might be used as fatigue detection technology, especially using PVT-M, #L, %Miss, and RTCA. Based on the parameters score and the baseline score, it was found that fatigue occurred after 270 minutes driving. Moreover, those parameters had significant correlation with mental fatigue dimension. Application of this result can be used in level 3 fatigue risk management of Indonesia’s road transport system, that regular condition check must be done using objective measurement before driving task, such as neurobehavioral task, which required baseline as the reference point. Best detection technology that can be used is PVT with PVT-M and #L as parameters. However, Stroop Test has a strong potential to substitute PVT, because of its shorter duration.
