ANALYSIS OF THE CLIMATE PARAMETERS INFLUENCE ON FRUIT FLY PEST ATTACK (BACTROCERA SP) IN MANGO PLANT (MANGIFERA INDICA) IN INDRAMAYU DISTRICT

Mango plant is one type of horticulture plant. Indramayu district is one of the largest mango fruit producers in West Java. There are several factors that can affect the reduction of mangoes productivitysuch as fruit flies (Bactocera sp). Fruit flies are susceptible to changes in climate parameters,...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/42737 Mango plant is one type of horticulture plant. Indramayu district is one of the largest mango fruit producers in West Java. There are several factors that can affect the reduction of mangoes productivitysuch as fruit flies (Bactocera sp). Fruit flies are susceptible to changes in climate parameters, such as rainfall, humidity and temperature. So that it will be examined the effect of climate parameters on fruit fly pests. This study uses statistical methods such as correlation to see the relationship between climate parameters and pest attack area, as well as linear regression and second order polynomials to model climate parameters (temperature, humidity and rainfall) on pest attack area. Monthly analysis shows that the temperature parameter has the highest correlation with the area of pest attack that is -0.31. Seasonal analysis shows the humidity parameters when MAM has the highest correlation with the area of pest attacks that is -0.51. The 2nd order polynomial regression model is better used because it has a higher R2 value than the linear regression model. In the monthly analysis, the 2nd order polynomial model of the temperature parameters on the area of pest attack has the largest R2 of 0.1. Whereas in the seasonal analysis, the highest R2 was found in the 2nd order polynomial model of the humidity parameters during the MAM period. text
