As a result of the flow of fluid there is a possibility that the material is experiencing wear. Users certainly want materials with an optimal service life and high durability. Cast iron is an iron-carbon alloy with carbon elements between 3-4.5%. Apart from the carbon element as the main alloy, it still contains various elements, each of which has different properties. This study aims to determine the effect of elements of chrome alloy on wear resistance of cast iron. The materials used in this study are gray cast iron (FC1 and FC2), cast iron with 0.5% chrome (Fe-0,5Cr) and cast iron with 27% chrome (Fe-27Cr). The tests conducted are metallographic or microscopic testing, hard testing and wear testing. Wear testing is carried out using the air jet erosion test method. The test results showed that the Fe-27Cr cast iron specimen containing elements of carbon (C) 2.8%, silicon (Si) 0.8%, manganese (Mn) 0.5% and chrome 27% had better wear resistance compared to the other three specimens. While the specimens that have the lowest wear resistance is FC2 specimen with a composition of carbon alloy elements (C) 3.7%, silicon (Si) 2.8% and manganese (Mn) 0.2%. text
