The design of port operation and management is based on a plan approved by the government in the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number KP 148 of 2016 concerning the Kuala Tanjung Port Master Plan. This Final Project Discussion includes the design of the apron operation and management, design of the yard area operation and management, and the calculation of container handling costs and tariffs. Designing the apron operation and management includes a combination of ships moored at the apron, determining the type, number, and productivity of loading and unloading equipment, and calculating the capacity of the apron. Designing the yard area operation and management includes determining the type of orientation, number, and productivity of the yard equipment, designing horizontal transportation operation and management; and calculation of yard area capacity. Calculation capital costs and container handling tariffs inlude of total capital costs, capital cost per container; capital costs per maintenance tool system; calculation of expenses and income during the payback period (10 years); making cash flow; and determine container handling rates per year based on scenarios for procurement of total and actual handling equipment and terminal usage, as well as financial feasibility analysis that includes calculations of Net Present Value, Benefit-Cost Ratio and payback period.
