Description
Summary:As the second largest city in Sumatra with a majority Muslim population, building a mosque is a major necessity in Palembang. The mosque must stand firm in order to facilitate worship activities at all times. Good foundation design is needed as a solution to this. Sriwijaya Great Mosque is a three-story reinforced concrete building with a steel roof truss. Based on the type of soil and the surrounding environmental factors, the bored pile is chosen as the foundation to be used. The foundation design aims to determine the dimensions and reinforcement for bored pile, pile cap and tie beam and also to determine pile group configuration. During the planning phase, supporting programs are used, including LPILE, Group8, PCAColumn and ETABS. The data used include joint reaction from the upper structure, soil data from the field, and soil data from laboratory tests. Soil data is processed with correlation to obtain the required soil parameters. Axial capacity of pile was calculated by the Meyerhof method, while the lateral pile capacity was determined using the p-y curve method. There are four types of pile groups namely A1, A2, A3 and B1. Groups A1, A3, and B1 have a configuration of two piles with dimensions of pile cap 2.9 x 1.1 x 0.6 meters for A1, dimensions of pile cap 1.1 x 2.9 x 0.5 meters for A3 and dimensions of pile cap 2.9 x 1.1 x 0.7 meters for B1. Group A2 has a configuration of four piles (2 x 2) with dimensions of pile cap 2.9 x 2.9 x 0.8 meters. Bored piles are typically 60 cm in diameter and 15 meters in length. The concrete strength used is 35 MPa for bored pile, 30 MPa for pile cap and tie beam. The highest settlement occurred in the A1 group of 4.3 cm and the largest differential settlement occurred between the A2-A3 group of 0.00328.
