This factory has two types of product that called raw cracker and ready-to-eat cracker which can produce up to 272 tons of cracker annually. The working room in Sari Rasa cracker factory is divided into a production room and a frying room located adjacent to the boiler where the measures particulates for PM2.5 and PM10 passes the quality standard and BTEX is still below the quality standard. In factory management in order to increase productivity both of environmental and economic sector, a system of cleaner production can be applied. Based on the identification of factory condition results, there are three cleaner production strategy approaches that can be done, called the substitution of raw material or companion material, good house keeping and process or technology modification so to determine the best alternative an exponential comparison method or CPM is used. The alternative chosen was the manufacture of door in the production room with PVC curtain door types and create the local exhaust system consisting of hood, duct, air cleaner, fan and stack. Hood is placed at three points of eddy current with capturing 60o tapered type and has flow of 2065.908 cfm, 1536.188 cfm and 2966.432 cfm. The planned ducting segment uses stainless steel with diameters of 9”, 12”, 14”, 16”, 17” and 25”. The air cleaner used is HEPA filter type H13 which has a removal efficiency up to 99,7%. The planned fan is a centrifugal type with a loss 8.109”WG. The planned stack has height of 11 m and an inner diameter of 40 cm made from bricks. Total investment cost obtained for design planning is Rp 45,429,726. text
