Summary:Citarum River is a heavily polluted river in West Java, with 50% of pollution is caused by domestic wastewater pollution. Katapang is one of the sub-districts located in sector 8 in Citarum Harum program and has sanitation priority level 2 (high sanitation risk). To handle this problem, a domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with capacity of 25,534,331 m2/day is designed with BOD, TSS, oil & grease, and total coliform removal efficiency of 70%, 66.67%, 83.33%, and 99.99% respectively. There are 5 alternative technologies, which are Completely Mixed Activated Sludge, Extended Aeration, Trickling Filter, Sequencing Batch Reactor, and Rotating Biological Contactor. The determination of chosen technology is done twice using the Weighted Sum Model (WSM) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) methods. Based on the alternative selection analysis, Trickling Filter was chosen. The configuration of WWTP designed is Bar Screen, Aerated Grit Chamber, Equalization Basin, Primary Sedimentation, Trickling Filter, Secondary Sedimentation, and Disinfection Basin, as well as Gravity Thickener and Belt Filter Press for sludge treatment. The WWTP effluent quality for BOD, TSS, oil & grease, ammonia, and total coliform are 0.37 mg/L, 18.34 mg/L, 5 mg/L, 0 mg/L, and 3000 MPN/100 mL in 1st stage and 0.68 mg/L, 19.91 mg/L, 5 mg/L, 0 mg/L, dan 3000 MPN/100 mL in 2nd stage. The WWTP investment cost is Rp 36.505.510.646,00, and the WWTP annual operational cost for 1st stage and 2nd stage are Rp 1.697.402.422,00 and Rp 2.928.586.270,00 respectively. Based on the economy analysis results, the NPV is Rp 179.464.129,00, which is positive.
