INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/42864 The plan to develop the Cirebon Institute of Technology Bandung Campus will implement the concept of sustainable campus. One example of the concept of elaboration of Sustainable Campus is the presence of laboratory wastewater treatment in the ITB- Cirebon Campus. Planning of a Laboratory Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and its drainage system from each laboratory to WWTP are needed to implement Sustainable Campus in order to treat laboratory wastewater independently. There is 2 types of wastewater produced in laboratory, hazardous toxic wastewater and non hazardous toxic wastewater. Hazardous and toxic wastewater is the concentrated wastewater with high pollutant component in the wastewater. Non-HW is produced from practical activities such as the disposal of residual liquid practicum activities in sink and washing laboratory equipment. The hazardous and toxic wastewater will be prossed by third party. At present, there is no planning regarding wastewater treatment from non-HW laboratory activities at the ITB-Cirebon Campus. The planning of laboratory WWTP will be divided into 2 stages of development. The first stage (2020-2024) will be built 1 WWTP, named WWTP A which is intended to treat wastewater from TPB Basic Chemistry Laboratory and Craft Study Program Studio. The IPAL A treatment system plan will be operating in batch once a week. The second stage (2024-2032) will be built 1 WWTPs, namely WWTP B. IPAL B is intended to treat wastewater from the TPB Basic Chemistry Laboratory, Craft Study Program Studio, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry Study Program, Biology Laboratory, Civil Engineering, Oceanography, Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Physics Study Program, and Geophysical Engineering. The IPAL B treatment system plan will be operating in batch twice a week. There are parameters that must be processed in laboratory wastewater to meet the quality standards of Minister of Environment Regulation No.5 of 2014 concerning Waste Water Quality Standards. Some of the wastewater produced by the laboratory is still exceeding the quality standard, especially in the parameters BOD, COD, TSS, and metal content. By analyzing the parameters to treat, the selected treatment for the first stage WWTP (2020-2024) are coagulation-flocculation, sedimentation, and activated carbon adsorption, while the series of water treatment processes selected for second stage (2024-2036) is coagulation-flocculation, sedimentation, activated carbon adsorption and constructed wetland. text |
