Description
Summary:Indonesia is a maritime country that holds a strategic geopolitical location in the world shipping routes. Since the eras of the Majapahit and Srivijaya Kingdoms, ports and shipping routes are major factors that influence growth and provisions for the people. Presently, ports around the world have become more and more sophisticated with ships ever increasing in sizes and port technology that allows efficient processes. Thus, Indonesia as a maritime country is challenged to develop ports as the most prominent means of connections. This Final Project will go over the design of ports, from analyzing field data, determining the harbor dimensions, planning of its operational phase, and briefly discusses about drainage and WWTP. Field Data analysis includes wave transformation and tidal analysis, both which provides valuable data that are then used to determine the elevation of the harbor, the approach channel, and the port basin. Operational planning covers the aspects of the ship calls, loading and unloading, Berth Occupancy Ratio (BOR), and equipment requirements such as cranes and trucks. Drainage planning briefly explains about rain water analysis to get the flow rate which are then used to determine the drainage channel dimension, and the conversion of daily water consumption to wastewater for the equalization pool for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
