Spectrograms were reduced with the long-slit task in Image Reduction and Analysis Facility (IRAF). The total extinction curve obtained from each observation is decomposed into three main components, i.e. Rayleigh scattering, ozone and water vapor absorption, and extinction by aerosol. The extinction prole of aerosol serves as important air pollution indicator caused of atmospheric turbidity. The behavior of atmospheric extinction over Bosscha Observatory based on longterm database (1982-1993) was studied by Malasan (1993). According to atmospheric extinction curve we derived, it will be compared to long-term photometric observations. The result of atmospheric extinction curve shows the enhancement that caused by particulate or aerosol addition to the troposphere. This particulate is deduced from anthropogenic activity from industry and fuel combustion which emits carbon dioxide, sulphate and another gases triggers the in situ aerosol formation. text |
