Summary: | PT. Unggul Indah Cahaya Tbk (UIC) is the sole producer of Alkylbenzene (AB), one of the main raw materials for detergents in Indonesia. In this industry, UIC is a company with the largest installed production capacity in one location in the Asia Pacific region. The increasing demand for Alkylbenzene, makes UIC plans to build a dock with a capacity of 50 thousand tons to be built at the company's factory located in Merak, Banten.
In this final project case study, the design of the dolphin and trestel pier will be discussed based on the design criteria used as a structural planning requirement by considering the existing conditions at the study site. The final task includes determining the dimensions of the dolphin and trestel jetty, processing environmental data, calculating the load on the jetty and trestel, structural modeling, structural reinforcement design, analysis of precast concrete construction and calculation of soil bearing capacity.
Structural modeling is done using structural analysis software to determine the reliability of the structure of the plan against the work load. The results of modeling in the form of unity check ratio (UCR), structural deflection, forces in beams and plates, and placement reactions. The design is carried out to obtain a reliable and optimal structural design, carried out by checking the UCR value as a reference whose value must be between 0.8 and 1.0, checking the reinforcement ratio value needed to determine the optimal cross-sectional area, determining the dimensions of precast concrete components to be used in order to be able to carry out an optimal construction process, and check the value of deflection as an aspect of the ability of the structure with the value must be below the permit limit.
The results of the Final Project include the design of the pier and trestel include the dimensions of the structure and dimensions of the structural elements of the dock and trestel, reinforcement details based on the forces in work, the dimensions of the precast concrete used, the strength analysis of the precast concrete when the construction process is carried out such as lifting and installation as well as the depth of the design plan which is able to withstand structural reactions based on available geotechnical data.
