DESIGN ANAEROBIC DIGESTER FOR ORGANIC WASTE AT TPS BALUBUR TOWN SQUARE
Balubur Town Square (Baltos) is one of the shopping centers in Bandung. Baltos has a temporary shelter (TPS) to manage the waste that they produces. TPS Baltos receives 852,779 kg of waste every day with the largest composition being organic. The percentage of organic waste is 74.02% or as much as 6...

The percentage of organic waste is 74.02% or as much as 631,229 kg. Until now, there is no specific waste management in there . But there is only sorting of waste that still has a sale value such as paper and plastic. After sorting, the trash will be packaged and sold to third parties. Whereas for organic waste there is no special treatment. Therefore the design of organic waste treatment is in the form of dry anaerobic digester. After make an election based on the alternatives of organic waste treatment, the selected system to be designed is Dry Anaerobic Digester with a single stage (batch) configuration and the process temperature is mesophilic. The design carried out also includes the unloading area, conveyor belt, chopper, reactor, gas reservoir, gas purifier, leachate container and compost maturation area. The AD reactors that were designed were 16 reactors with a maximum capacity of organic waste treated in 1 day is 646,436 kg or 1.6875 m3 and the addition of inoculum as much as substrate input (assuming S / I = 1). The main product of AD processing is biogas which will be used for cooking fuel in 5 stalls in the foodcourt area. In addition there are also by products in the form of solid digestate and leachate. Solid digestate produced as much as 307,182 kg and will be used as compost with maturation 30 days first. While the leachate produced is as much as 287,358 kg. The fee required to implement this anaerobic digester system is Rp. 458,607,820. text |
