Summary: | The design of the public street lighting system (PJU) in this study was designed to be hybrid powered with wind and solar energy. This system is not connected to the grid or commonly called stand alone so it needs energy storage media in the form of batteries. The design process is based on the potential for wind and sun at the site. The output of this design is the specifications of each unit such as the height of the mast, lamp luminance, photo-voltaic capacity (PV), wind turbine capacity, controller and battery capacity. The type of solar panel used is 18 Wp polycrystalline, while the developed wind turbine is a combination of horizontal and vertical wind turbines. After the specifications are determined, the next process is the design using AutoCAD software to facilitate manufacturing. The manufacturing process is related to the selection of materials and the availability of components on the market, so some adjustments are needed. Furthermore, a trial was carried out with the results with an average wind potential of 2.6 m / s vertical wind turbine output 2.4 Watt with a CP of 0.38 and a horizontal wind turbine of 4.8 Watt with a CP of 0.178. Tests for sunlight produce 69 Wh solar panel output with an efficiency of 9.043%. |
