Summary: | Management of water body contamination due to domestic and industrial waste can be done by phytoremediation. Various types of plants have hyperaccumulatory properties that have the potential to remediate waste including water spinach, mustard greens and water hyacinth plants. This study aims to determine plant growth and the effectiveness of copper and lead heavy metal uptake by water spinach, mustard greens and water hyacinth plants on domestic waste. The method used is phytoremediation using the floating hydroponic method. The results showed that the average growth rates of water hyacinth, water spinach, and mustard greens were 0.1 cm / day, 0.61 cm / day, and 0.79 cm / day respectively, the average growth rate of leaves of water hyacinth, water spinach, and mustard successively 1.25 strands / day, 1.37 strands / day, 0.21 strands / day, average root length of water hyacinth, water spinach, and mustard greens respectively 10.45 m, 5.74 m, 1.61 m, average canopy dry biomass water hyacinth, kale, and mustard plants in a row were 2.2 g / plant, 3.26 g / plant, 2.11 g / plant, the average dry biomass of the roots of water hyacinth, water spinach, and mustard greens respectively was 1.06 g / plant, 1.03 g / plant, 0.15 g / plant. The effectiveness of water hyacinth plants on Cu and Pb metals in sequence is 85% and 100%. The effectiveness of water spinach plants on Cu and Pb metals in sequence is equal to 80% and 100%. The effectiveness of mustard plants on Cu and Pb metals in sequence is 62% and 81%.
