Summary: | PT X is a BUMN (Badan Usaha Milik Negara) company engaged in the aerospace industry in Indonesia. PT X has an area of approximately 600,000 m2 with a total of 4,237 workers in 2019. PT X generates domestic waste generation of 300 to 400 kg per day or as much as 0.086 kg / worker / day. The existing waste management system is not running optimally. Sorting at the source of waste has not gone well even though it has been facilitated by disaggregated waste containers. TPS Umum also does not provide waste treatment facilities before being transported to the landfill, especially organic waste. Even though the potential for processing organic waste is quite large because it has a composition of 49.6%. The waste management system that has not been good requires improvement efforts so that the waste management system runs optimally and does not cause adverse effects. One of them is influencing the acquisition of Green PROPER which has now been achieved. The design of waste management at PT X consists of planning a sorting system from sources, collection systems, and a waste handling system at the TPS Umum. In general, the process of handling waste at the TPS Umum consists of a waste collecting system, a waste sorting system, an inorganic waste handling system, an organic waste treatment system, and a residue handling system. Sorting at the source is classified into 3 waste categories, namely inorganic, organic and B3 waste. Inorganic waste will be sorted using a 10 m conveyor belt manually. Handling in anoganic waste is plastic counting, paper compaction, and metal and glass storage. While inorganic waste not sold will be disposed of with residues. The processing of organic waste is by composting using 2 pieces of open windrow equipped with 2 maturation tanks for ripe compost. PT X's General TPS has a maximum design capacity of 3.25 m3 / day or 0.56 tons / day. |
