Summary: | Battery energy storage systems have often been used lately. Battery energy storage systems get a lot of attention because of their easy use with superior battery characteristics compared to other energy storage systems. Battery energy storage systems can provide energy for electricity networks that are safe, fast, and efficient. Many types of batteries are being carried out research such as lithium ion batteries, flow batteries, lead acid, NaS (Sodium Sulfur), and others. Peak shaving is one of the techniques to use batteries in the electricity network to get savings in electricity generation, by controlling charging and discharging energy outside the peak load and peak load resulting in a price difference that is the origin of the benefits in using the peak shaving application. In this study, conducted with various types of batteries used to get maximum economic results, using the method of return of investment. This research was conducted on a 20kV electricity distribution network in the Bandung area and surrounding areas (West Java). The results obtained for this type of lithium ion battery can be used with an IRR of 9% which is enough to produce profits. |
