Description
Summary:Mosque is a place where Moslems do their everyday prayer, salah, in congregation. Mosques are built with many different designs of the doorway location. Some of the designs are causing problem like shaff that not ideally formed because of poor design for the entrance and exit flow. In this final project, some experiments are done with different kind of design for entrance and exit at a mosque in providing the best flow for Moslems who will do their salah forming the shaff. The flow is evaluated from the effectiveness in forming the ideal shaff and the exit process. To do the experiments, a simulation of the people forming shaff is made. The simulation then is executed in some various design of doorway location of the mosque. This simulation uses an agent-based simulation which has self-organization mechanism. An agent in the simulation is representing a Moslem who will do the salah. Every agent is independent and has a goal to form the ideal shaff like what had been taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Based on the result of the experiments, the design of the doorway location which gave the best flow in forming the shaff are those located at the side of the mosque. Beside that, it is best to have the balance percentage of people going to the left and right side of the shaff. And from the interarrival time aspect, it is best to form the shaff when there was longer interarrival time between the people.
