The exhaust gas produced from the urea fertilizer production process is ammonia. The concentration of ammonia that comes out through the prilling tower is below the applicable emission quality standard, but there is still a smell that is felt by the people who live near the urea plant. There are three alternative wet scrubber technologies proposed, which are spray tower, tray tower, and packed tower. The selection of alternatives is done by weighting, and selected technology alternatives in the form of packed tower scrubbers because of its ease of maintenance and more efficient removal of ammonia gas. The calculation of packed tower design is done by calculating the liquid to gas ratio in advance to determine the fluid requirements that will be used to set aside the gas. After obtaining the amount of water needed, the dimensions of the packed tower are calculated. text |
