Description
Summary:Estimates of well performance is very important to determine optimum production scheme, design production equipment, design stimulation treatments, and forecast production for planning purposes. Estimates well performance can be done by developing relationship between measured fluid flow rate and bottomhole flowing pressure. This relationship is called Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR), or in geothermal known as the Geothermal Inflow Performance Relationship (GIPR). Several prominent GIPR equations have been developed for saturated water fluids by Iglesias and Moya (1990), Gunn and Freeston (1991), Moya (1994), Moya et al. (1995, 1998, 2001), Iglesias and Moya (1998), and O'Sullivan et al. (2005). Based on those, this study developed the GIPR equation for geothermal fields with steam-dominated reservoir. The GIPR equation was developed using production test data of six wells in field. The equation was developed analytically using a dimensionless equation developed by Vogel (1968) by determining each constant based on empirical well data. The GIPR equation was successfully constructed and can represent well deliverability of field quite well. Based on the validation test, the average absolute error is 10.3% and the Root Mean Square Error value is 5.9%.
